Replacing the Bonnet Tape
The Morgan bonnet seats on 16mm (5/8") wide woven tape. It is available from companies like Woolies for around £3.50 per metre. A length of tape is nailed through a recess on the front edge of the scuttle by trim tacks as shown in Figure 1.
Slots cut into the recess at the rear of the cowl allow the tape to be threaded through it and fixed by pop rivets at each end.
